Hogs Head Old Boys 5 - 7 Pocklington Town 3rds
02 Nov 2013
YARA sponsored Pocklington Town 3
rds travelled to Hull for this East Riding cup game last Saturday and in an excellent advert for attacking football, managed to progress through to the last 16 with a narrow victory. Pock made a good start and were 2-0 up after 10 minutes with a brace from James Marshall but the home side came back to make it 2-2 after 20 minutes in a free flowing game. Town regained the lead through Andy Saltmer on the half hour and Pock finished an excellent first half when Marshall bagged two more to make it 5-2 at the interval. Hogs Head pulled one back early in the second period only for Mark Sissons to make it 6-3 and Nick Daniels to seemingly seal the result when he made it 7-3.
Town suffered a nervous last 10 minutes when Hogs Head scored twice but they held on to move into the last 16. MOM was awarded to James Marshall for his four goal haul and Pock are back in league action this weekend with an away trip to take on Heslington.
