MARSHAL TYRES sponsored Pockingtons 2nd team travelled to Hemingbrough with also affected by injuries and unavailability and with a weakened side, struggled against the experience of the home team, coming away with a 4-0 defeat after too many mistakes presented the home side with goalscoring chances. Town are at home to Church Fenton White Horse this weekend and will be hoping to get players back to strengthen the squad, meeting at the club at 1pm please.

Pocklington Towns Reserves (SPONSORED BY MARSHAL) suffered a 5-2 reverse at the hands of second placed Osbaldwick when several errors contributed to some gift goals for the visitors. MARSHAL TYRES sponsored Pocklington Reserves travelled to Hutton Cranswick to take on Stirling Wanderers in the East Riding cup and qualified for the last 16 with a comfortable win. Pock raced in to a 2-0 lead with goals from Ted Donkin and Dan O'Connor and despite being pegged back to 2-1, went into half time 3-1 ahead when James Saltmer bagged his fifth of the season.

Despite MARSHAL TYRES sponsored Pocklington's Reserve side losing a 4-2 lead at home to Hemingbrough last weekend, they should take a lot of heart from a battling performance against a more experienced side that put them under a lot of pressure in the last 20 minutes. An early goal from Chris Murray put Town 1-0 up at half time but despite the visitors levelling early in the second half, Dan O'Connors well struck corner went straight in to restore Towns lead. Dave O'Connor scored to finish off a flowing passing move but Hemingbrough brought it back to 3-2 with 30 minutes still to play. Dave O'Connor thought that he had secured the 3 points when he bagged his second but Hemingbrough refused to give up and piled on the pressure to score two late goals to share the points.

MARSHAL TYRES sponsored Pocklington overcame the conditions and an excellent Beverley Town team last Saturday to qualify for the Humber league cup (sponsored by Whiteheads Fish & Chips) semi final although it needed extra time on a strength sapping, freezing cold afternoon for Pock to overcome the current Humber Premier division leaders in an enthralling encounter.
